What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Linkr collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Linkr website and digital card service. Linkr is an independent product by Screen.

Information you give us

We collect information you choose to add to your account or cards, including:

• Account details such as your name, email address, username, avatar, and authentication provider ID.
• Card details such as your display name, role, company, bio, links, phone number, email address, website, avatar, and card style.
• Exchange and collection details, including cards you keep, exchange status, notes, tags, context, favourites, and reports.
• Messages or other information you send to us for support, safety, or account requests.

Information collected automatically

Linkr and the providers that help us run it may receive basic technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, request times, approximate location from an IP address, and error details. We use this information to secure, operate, and improve the service.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Create and authenticate your account.
• Store, display, and share your card when you choose to publish it.
• Run card exchanges, collections, notifications, and account settings.
• Prevent abuse, investigate reports, protect the service, and enforce our Terms of Service.
• Respond to support requests and send service messages.
• Understand reliability and improve Linkr. We do not sell personal information.

Cards and visibility

A published card and its username are public. The visibility choice on each contact field controls what other people can see. A public field can be viewed by anyone who opens the card. An exchanged field is shown only after the exchange conditions are met. A hidden field is not shown on the public card.

Anything you publish on a public card can be copied by people who can view it. Do not add information you do not want to share publicly.

Service providers

We use third-party providers to operate Linkr. Clerk provides account authentication and session management. Convex provides the database, server functions, and file storage used by the app. Hosting, security, email, and delivery providers may process the limited information needed to provide those services. These providers may process information under their own privacy policies and our instructions.

Cookies and local storage

Linkr uses essential Clerk cookies to keep you signed in. We also use local storage for your theme preference and, when you use guest exchange features, a guest key that lets us move saved cards into your account after sign-up. You can clear local storage in your browser, but doing so may remove guest cards that have not been claimed.

Retention and deletion

We keep account and card data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. To request account deletion or a copy of your information, email [email protected]. We will verify the request and remove or anonymise information where we are allowed to do so.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to some processing. You can also change card visibility or remove published card content in the app. Contact us if you want to exercise a right. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Linkr is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact [email protected].

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when Linkr changes. We will update the effective date and, where required, give notice in the service. Questions, requests, and privacy concerns can be sent to [email protected].
